Membership options

When you join the Naples Sail and Power Squadron you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you are in the selected company of individuals and families that share your love of boating.

We anticipate that you will be equally interested in advancing the objectives of our organization: the education of members, participation in civic programs, and the creation of an atmosphere of friendship and camaraderie among members. Your membership has also a number of advantages.

Membership is by application, which must be proposed by a current member and seconded. After Squadron review of the application, an invitation is extended. We encourage you to visit or contact us to learn of your intentions to become a member so that we facilitate the process. We are located in Naples, Florida. Here are additional requirements:

To be a least 18 years of age. There are no age considerations for family members.
Provide certification of passing a prescribed course, such as the USPS Boating Course. There could be course equivalents to satisfy this requirement. Please contact us for more information.

Upon completion of all requirements, the invitation is reviewed by the USPS national headquarters, which issues a certificate of membership. Membership is not restricted to boat owners, nor owners of large vessels.

To prepare you toward your membership, our squadron teaches at least one or two USPS Boating Courses every year. The courses usually begin in the Summer, then again in November and January. Please check our course schedule and contact us with your inquiries.

Active members in good standing of other squadrons of USPS, or of the Canadian Power and Sail Squadron may also be granted an associate membership.

Family and associate members shall enjoy only such privileges as are in accordance with the policy and authority of USPS relating to voting, holding elective office, or representation at specified meetings.

The current Squadron annual dues for new members are as follows:

Active Member $80.00
2nd Active Member $45.50
Family Member $25.00

Dues are prorated for members joining during the Squadron year. Contact us to help you become a Naples Sail and Power Squadron member.
