Fire is the greatest single potential for disaster on a boat

The possibility of a boat fire can never be completely eliminated and is always a threat to watch for and guard against. Boat safety begins with assessing your primary responsibilities and capabilities for the variety of emergency situations you might encounter.

As part of our dedication toward boat safety, the Naples Sail and Power Squadron offers a hands-on fire education course to transfer knowledge to recreational boaters, in Naples and Bonita Springs, Florida, on all areas of boat fire prevention.

Whether you sail or operate an engine-powered vessel, you must be especially alert for fire, its possible causes, and areas on a boat that are very susceptible to fire. There are some causes of fire that are more frequently encountered on boats and you must learn to be especially watchful for them.

Same as our Vessel Safety Check, instruction on our Fire Education course is provided free of charge, as a civic service of our Squadron. Our instructors receive rigorous training and are enthusiastic of increasing your boating knowledge.
