Education overview - Boat with knowledge and skills

All boaters (operator of an outboard utility boat or personal watercraft; the skipper of a family cruiser; the sailing enthusiast) must follow the same nautical rules, regulations, and courtesies of the sea. All are subject to the same forces of nature while boating.

Learn boating handling techniques from experienced instructors. The Naples Sail and Power Squadron has qualified member instructors who receive rigorous training to provide you the knowledge and help you build the skills to maximize your enjoyment on the waterways.

We offer wide disciplines of advanced and elective courses as well as boating courses and seminars open to the public. We offer the course required for membership. Although course instruction is free for members, some course charges may apply.

We have appropriate courses whether you sail, operate a powerboat, or use a personal watercraft, such as a jet ski. The Naples Sail and Power Squadron also embraces boaters with all affinities, whether you trailer your boat or personal watercraft or use a marina. Whether you fish or boat for leisure the Squadron welcomes you and your family.



To stimulate member interest and participation in educational courses, USPS® provides visible means of recognizing its members for their accomplishments through the use of insignias and grades. Inquire about membership at NSPS.

We invite all recreational boaters in the Naples and Bonita Springs, Florida area to learn about us, review our course descriptions, course schedule and contact us for more information. All boaters are welcome to join us for education and social activities.
